Winter is well and truly upon us, and the cold snap has seen parts of the country struggling with ice and snowfall. It’s at this time of year that many businesses realise that equipment or stock is unprotected from the elements. Iced up machinery or vehicles can make running your business far more difficult than usual. And that’s not to mention staff who normally work outside, who can find conditions pretty tricky to cope with too.

The shortage of warehousing in the UK is seeing investors stumping up forward funding cash to developers for the building of warehouses, rather than waiting until they are completed and risking losing out to other companies. Traditionally, investors bought up existing warehouses, but are now being forced to advance fund warehouses not yet built. The North West of England is one area where there have been large amounts of forward funding made for warehousing, with a one million square foot speculative warehouse building boom about to get underway.
